WHAT IS KRATOM?
This tropical evergreen tree – Mitragynine speciosa – is native to Southeast Asia and is a member of the coffee plant family.
Kratom is full of alkaloids, which are naturally occurring compounds found mainly in flowering plants. It is these alkaloids that make the Kratom tree so special. The two most important alkaloids found in the Kratom leaf are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine.
Traditionally, people chewed the leaves or brewed them into tea. Manual laborers would eat Kratom if they needed to boost their motivation, and Kratom was used in many cultural rites over the centuries.
Modern users, especially in the Western world, sometimes have a hard time with the bitter taste of the Kratom leaves. Powdered Kratom leaf can be blended into food or drinks, or put into capsules, which are portable and discreet. Best of all, capsules let you adjust your Kratom dosage as needed.
By blending it into food or drinks or taking it in a capsule, the bitter taste can be avoided completely but effects will remain, and your amount can be adjusted down to the smallest increment.
